There is a a lot of talk about being over $3 a gallon in areas today. Reports are that in Saginaw it is running $3.50 per gallon and in the Breckenridge area it is up to $3.08. Is anyone seeing this price jump in your area? I don't see this trend in the price reports.

Just registered to post this reply - I searched High and Low prices for all areas / all stations at stations at http://www.michigangasprices.com/

bob777watt posted $3.10 for a Speedway station in Flint, MI on I-75 & Bristol -- this is about 5 miles away from me - but I can't go confirm it until after work.

Anyway to check out how reliable this user is?

While California gasoline prices are higher than most anywhere else (in the US) we are still $0.50/gallon away from $3.00/gallon

I've been listening to the radio this afternoon about the "gas scare". I heard on the radio 105.5 that gas will not be going up in Flint (guaranteed for a week) It's starting to sound more like a hoax than anything to be afraid of. Unfortunately, if people keep panicking and rushing to the gas station...prices will go up (probably not up to $3 still). Thus, Supply & Demand. I Guess no one can be sure until Wednesday. It is most likely gas stations saw the sign in Midland or wherever...and decided to price gouge.

Tell me what you think.

The gas station in Midland that hasn't opened yet that is rumoured to have had the price up as over $3 has taken the price down. Could this have been someone's idea of a joke? it's causing mass hysteria here. All stations in town are lined up into the street. The guys working at the Meijer Gas station think it's funny and keep trying to tell the customers that it's just a crazy rumor but people are rabid.

I just heard from a good source that this is not a rumor that it is suppose to happen today sometime. My motherinlaw said she seen it at $3.05 in Breckenridge. I have not seen anything for myself and actually just filled up for $2.32 in Alma. Just giving everyone a heads up to watch the pump for signs it is going to jump. If this is the result of a employee error that was training not a bad day on the job manage to get the entire public in a up roar.

Well we are hearing this rumor like CRAZY here on the east side of Bay City. this is nuts! I called WNEM and so did my neighbor and they see NO evidence of it going up yet everybody seems to know somebody that has actually seen it at $3.15 in Standish, 3.10 in Midland, 3.05 on Euclid. I called Sunoco on Broadway the the frazled sounding employee said yes its tru but I am busy. I did not find out if they were actually told to raise their prices of if the employee just thinks its true because of the business pick up. My neighbor called her friend that works at a Marothon and she said they were busy but that she heard it was a rumor due to an employee at a Walmart in Midland was being trained how to do the sign and goofed and put in over $3 a gallon, she had not heard of their prices going up. This is all everyone is talking about.

I am in Caro Michigan and Gas is $2.29 at wal-mart and $2.31 at the clark in town. The speedways are similar in price. I have heard from a few sources gas is $3.05 in Saginaw but have not seen it with my own eyes. Gas however is NOT $3.25 in Caro

Unless I see it myself, a sever jump like that I would have to ignore. Especially since all of the data everywhere else points to falling prices. In southern Indiana, prices fell nearly 10 cent in the last week to around $2.21 /gallon.

I've heard that rumor too. The prices haven't jumped here....yet. I'm in Flint, MI...just south of Saginaw. I'll probably fill up just to make sure.
