Hybridcars.com -- Pete Brissette January 21, 2013

in order for hybrids to take off more for Honda, the price tag needs to come down.

stude: why is it a bunch of BS? The 100+ is MPGe = miles per gallon equivalent. Where's the BS (other than the fact that the regular mpg / EPA fuel efficient rating is a bunch of fake numbers)?

Just the cost to get to either state is cost prohibitive.

Looks very good, we need more R&D. The price will come down the more are sold.

Yeah, it's a high price, but the early adopters can pay off the R & D. I like the idea of faster charging and letting he driver select operating modes, but there are no HP, regular mpg, or distance on electricity alone figures, so I'd want to know those.

way to expensive. If you do the cost benefit analysis, you will see that it is overpriced.

I would think one would have to put at least 60,000 mi/year on a car to break even on this vs. keeping the car they already have.

I could buy one, and spend $500/month on car payments and $10/mo on electricity, OR, I could keep the paid-for car I have and spend $150/mo on gas....
Even if gas hits $6/gallon, I'd still be saving money.

How many miles per charge can the car travel? I wonder about power for mountain driving or distance allowed for cross country trips. I don't want to stop every 300 miles for 3 hours to plug in.

This article would be more informative if it explained how the MPGe is calculated. It is certainly not intuitive to convert battery depletion to burning gas.

Plus how the electicity is produced for charging the battery (coal, natural gas, hydro, wind, solar, etc) could vary greatly from region to region, so measuring the 'greenness' of the vehicle would vary greatly as well?

High priced, and the MPGe's always turn out to be inflated.

At least it is a hybrid, and you don't have to worry about finding an electrical outlet somewhere between Carlin and Elko.

Those MPG ratings are not accurate and can flutcuate greatly depending where and how you drive.
