When clean water is more expensive than crude it will be too late.

If the Sierra Club and the National Resources Defense Council support this petition, then the public needs to reject this petition. It is one thing to be a good steward of the environment but it is another thing entirely to be a zealot who demands purity at the cost of life itself.

teenitup: The EPA has found no instance of contamination.
Well, they have. But even so, what difference does that make about full public disclosure. The very fact that fracking corporations are spending so much money and fighting so hard against rules for full public disclosure only verifies that full public disclosure would only hurt them because of the highly toxic chemicals use.

The EPA is a worthless bureaucracy that takes power out of the hands of the people and the people's representatives. You hand more and more power away then they can get away with anything they want to because who is going to stop them?

Seems like every time we turn around these so called environmental groups are just getting in the way of economic recovery.
The EPA has found no instance of contamination.

Pump it up!!!
The EPA is supposed to protect us and the lands, air, and water....
what are they doing??
Americans demand the info needed to make clear decisions...
this process should be completely stopped until the info is provided..
what are they hiding??

don't forget that there have been many chemicals that were widely used until serious results were found... DDT for one...

There was a time when we all lived close to the land and realized why it was so important to take care of our land and water so that the land and water would take care of US.
If someone came along and poisoned your water? Nobody thought twice about giving em both barrels.
The value of your land was closely tied to the quality of your water.
There are now guys that make a living trying to convince folks that it is somehow "silly" to be concerned about the quality of your water.

There are companies that do nothing but clean fracking fluids for recycling. They need to be used.

it's ironic that the big oil companys have to put chemicals in the gas to prevent air pollution and create toxic waste while doing it. oil companys will have to render an account someday.

Big oil doesn't care about you only the bottom line. More oil doesn't lower prices.

Both need some REAL LIFE LIMITS!! We can NOT have our rivers catching on fire but we also can NOT be stoppinp necessary operations just because someone passed a little gas!! A lot of operations that were 90% CLEAN got shut down and sent to MEXICO and other countrys that have NO POLUTION CONTROLS at all and are now spewing out 100 time more polution that we still end up with!

Aviator Rob is spot on in his post:
"Energy independence is a great idea, @ican2step, but do you want to be poisoned just so Big Oil can have a few extra billion added to their bottom line?
Make no mistake, Big Oil has no desire to lower gas prices. Increased oil production here will just mean increased exports out of the U.S. "

full disclosure of the chemicals used and the environmental impact would be nice. we also need full disclosure for the impacts of ordinary gas and oil drilling for a good comparison

I have a better idea, why not just put an injunction on all E.P.A. activity until we as a Country determine whether or not we want that department operating any longer... Seems enough people don't like what they are doing...
