2013 gas prices could be steady

WLFI -- WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana - Experts are saying gas prices could remain steady all throughout this year.

Problems in the Middle East or with any other supplier could shoot prices up. A local refinery fire could also make prices increase temporarily. But in general, experts say the outlook is pretty good for gas prices.

Purdue Ag Economist Wally Tyner said prices should be steady. Tyner said in the last four or five years, the United States has increased oil production by 25 percent. He said the U.S. will continue to increase oil production which is a good thing for years to come.

Tyner said a lot of this year's prices will depend on Congress.

"If they don't come to some kind of agreement that avoids this sequester of funds, spending goes down. That means the economic growth goes down.

Make up you mind! The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon - $3, $3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low! The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! These resources are Not to be exported without taking care of the domestic market first. Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump for their personal greedy benefit. I find the GasBuddy month-by-month forecast that PD posted a few days ago the most interesting. I printed it and will follow along for the year and see how it does.

Just last week the "experts" said that gas prices could be going up. Now they say it could be holding steady. Next week these "experts" need to tell us that gas prices could be dropping.
