prices need to come down on a lot of cars. They're well overpriced for the product they offer.

For instance, Nissan Versa is less expensive and has mid-sized interior room

There is a reason or two these cars are still out there in quantity. In some cases, the gas mileage is not that great. And the quality of some of these is a bit questionable.

Under Bush-McCain-Romney....only two "sweet deals" would even exist -- the Nissan Sentra and the Kia Sedona.....since GM and Ford would have been history...

Survey: Who here is actually doing better than four years ago. Enough to consider dropping 25 - 30 K for a new car. Personally unless the Nissan frontier blows after 385,000 miles I'm done. Have a great weekend you'all! ... . . . . . Let me know what you think at " Getting us out of this quagmire".

Agreed, Focus is the way to go. Great interior, great mileage. Don't bother with these "affordable" cars. They will make you sad every day.

These cars are really pretty but you can find a used care for half the price that gets as good or better milage. The one SUV gets 18mpg? We have a 02 Suzuki XL7 with 120000 on it that get over 18mpg around town.
And $20 or $30K for a car, isn't that like a years pay for some or at least 1/2 or 1/4 of a years pay.

Deals on cars many did not want. Is that really a good deal? Example the Malibu. In comparisons tests Malibu comes in 5th or last various car magazines.

You know you are getting old when you read that $30,000 for a car is reasonable and affordable.
