Exxon: US energy revival has staying power

Electric Light & Power -- Exxon says the energy renaissance in the U.S. will continue and predicts that North America will become a net exporter of oil and natural gas by the middle of the next decade. The company's annual long-term energy outlook, released Tuesday, says the rapid growth of production in the U.S. and Canada, along with improved energy efficiency, will lead to more oil and natural gas being sent overseas. Exxon Mobil Corp.'s annual outlook is noted by investors and policymakers, and the company says its conclusions shape its decisions about where to invest. The main conclusions dovetail with recent forecasts from the U.S. government and others.

Among the main themes from Exxon's report: * Demand for energy will grow worldwide, but slower than the overall economy because of efficiency gains.

It is based on supply and demand. If it will get a better profit margin elsewhere than we will have to pay more for oil.

SSchmidty you are wrong. Those numbers are old news and the new finds of oil are more than they have ever been. The old way of getting oil may be down but the new processes have changed the whole story.

more BIG lires .... clearly not paying attention to basic facts...the supply is diminishing and FAST with between 2019 and 2040 when the implosion is coming for unsustainably high prices. Try on $400/barrel.

THIS has been documented on History Channel 2 already in a program series. Oops!!!

Sure it is their prerogative to sell to anyone but they should remember where they live and what country they belong to. They should also remember that when they oversell and turn around and gouge the public because they caused a shortage that it very well could come back to haunt them.
