Gas prices are rising in the region

Gainsvilletimes -- Experts expect peak around $4 a gallon by April

Less than a month ago, residents of Northeast Georgia were celebrating as gas prices hovered at $3 a gallon for the holidays; now, they’re hoping gas doesn’t spike upward of $4 a gallon by April.

According to GasBuddy, an online gas price provider, the average cost for a gallon of regular gas in Georgia is $3.32.

That’s five cents above the national average of $3.27. Compare that to a month ago, when Georgia’s average was $3.23 and the national average was $3.34.

“(Gas) rose a little more last year (at this time) than this year,” said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.

DeHaan also said he was surprised that prices are rising at a slower rate this year than last.According to DeHaan, gas will move up and

We are averaging in the $3.70's and only went to the $3.60's very temporarily! At 40 cent/gallon savings with a 15 gallon fuel tank....than saves the consumer $6.00 per fill up.

We have two other articles today saying prices are steady or will drop. If all possibilities are covered someone will be right. The press is so scared of the current administration it's nor surprising seeing every angle being covered. The "Private Sector" will only read, hear & see what they want us to. I have a theory for ya. When ya need gas you're going to pay what ever it cost when you buy it where you stop. It might be high or it might be 2 cents lower than across the street. Nary a single one of the forecasters knows what will happen in the real world that will drive pump prices... for the most part, they are simply hedging their bets, often with multiple experts offering differing forecasts for the same agency. I wouldn't let ANY of these "forecasters" loose in Vegas with any of my money.

In Bloomingdale, IL the price is consistently 15 to 30 cents CHEAPER per gallon over several years. Just noting the "facts"!
