Roller-coaster continues: Gas prices dip

The Sun Chronicle -- The up-and-down movement of gasoline prices continues, with costs dipping 2 cents a gallon this week in Massachusetts.

AAA Southern New England reported Monday self-serve, regular dropped to an average of $3.43 per gallon.

Prices jumped 4 cents last week and 1 cent the previous week but before that had fallen for 11 straight weeks, totaling 48 cents.

Prices are down 11 cents over the past month but remain 3 cents higher than at the same time last year and 13 cents above the national average.

GasBuddy.com found in its survey of 2,830 gas outlets in Massachusetts regular had fallen 1 cent, averaging $3.46.

In Attleboro Monday, the Shell station on South Avenue (Route 123) was selling regular for $3.41, down 2 cents from last week, and Cumberland Farms at County and Wall streets was at

If we could be sure that the price of our fuel would remain steady we would be able to do more with the money we have. But with the threat of it rising to $4 for any reason or no reason consumers hold their wallets close to their chest. We have to be able to get to work to pay for the fuel and other necessities. PRICE CONTROL sounds really attractive to me.
